Rachel & Carrie chat to Tyler Mount

Almost 2 weeks ago, Carrie St Louis, the current Glinda to Rachel Tucker's Broadway Elphaba posted a tease on her Instagram, at the fact her & Rachel had just recorded a fun interview with Tyler Mount for his Playbill Vlog. This was enough to get us very excited about the interview.

Then as if that wasn't enough to have us dying to see this interview, last week Rachel posted a group of photos from the interview on her Facebook..

Today Tyler teased that the video would finally be released ...

Then suddenly the wait was over & we got to see his fabulous Vlog with Rachel Tucker & Carrie St Louis, so without further ado..

We couldn't help but Gif the last few moments for you all.. so enjoy these wee gifts for you all.

Rachel on 'Show People' with Paul Wontorek

Earlier today Broadway.Com shared this weeks episode of "Show People" and lucky for us their guest was Rachel Tucker. Click through to check it out or watch below.

This is such a fabulous interview with Rachel, just finished & already need to watch again. It's funny I was just thinking today that there had not been enough proper interviews with Rachel since she started back in Wicked & then boom.. here we go.

Must apologise for my lack of updates on the blog recently, there's been so much happening & then my own little trip to New York to see our green girl in action. There's been incredible new promo pictures posted recently & i've been waiting patiently for them all to be released before sharing in a blog post, but have been Tweeting/Instagramming & adding to our Facebook page as soon as I become aware of them. So if you're not already following us on those please do click through & join us.

Also will be running a few competitions soon to win a couple of Playbills from Wicked on Broadway, so keep an eye out for those on Twitter, as soon as I decide what you'll need to do to enter.

Will get to catching up on some of the important things that belong on the blog for you guys asap & hope to do some little write ups about the Wicked shows I saw whilst over there & just how much Rachel's Elphaba has evolved. She was out of this world in London & now over on Broadway with the opportunity to revisit this character, she's completely blown her own bar out of the water & truly does live in the 'skin of Elphie' as Paul mentioned above. I'd been trying to find a way to describe how she just 'IS' Elphie & he kind of hit the nail on the head. I could honestly babble on for hours about how 'perfect' her Elphaba is but i'll save it for when I can make it make sense. Just know that if you have NOT been to see Rachel on Broadway yet, you need to get on it. Break out the piggy bank & make that happen.

For your information: Rachel will not be performing on the following dates & has tweeted that her contract is up on 19th June 2016, so honestly guys, get those diaries out & start planning.

A Gift from Rachel

So guys, we've been holding our breath waiting for Rachel to share a special something with us from her gig & it's finally ready.

Rachel wanted us to exclusively share a special video with you all from her St James Concerts: Back From Broadway & well here it is.. with a wee message from the lady herself.

If you hadn't already guessed (or skipped ahead to click play) the song is 'Anyway' by Kerrigan & Lowdermilk. As far as we know the first time Rachel performed it was back in February of 2014, when she performed at the St James Studio for their 'Words & Music' concert & it blew us away completely then & now well over a year on, she found new depth & took it to a whole other level. It's a heart wrenching song, telling a very meaningful story & Rachel tells it with pure heart & soul.
From what we can remember of the gigs, we're pretty sure this video was recorded at the matinee. Before the song Rachel spoke briefly about how
"We all have a person in our lives, a best friend, someone you love, someone you trust & admire & their talented & beautiful....... ...... you've got them sitting beside you, they're always there, they never let you down & it's a lovely thing & then they're taken from you.. gone.."
I remember being at the gig when she spoke those words & knowing exactly what song she was going to sing & being completely overcome when the first few notes were played. It's a song that is extremely close to my heart (as for anyone interested who doesn't already know, can read in my blog about the Kerrigan & Lowdermilk gig) & those words before, set the tone. Then  of course Rachel gave such a passionate & committed performance of it & how lucky are we to now have a video of this? I remember I wrote in that blog about how I had to have video of this song, well good things come to those who wait.. we've now got video of Rachel performing 'Anyway' by Kerrigan & Lowdermilk Thank you Rachel for sharing this gift with us.

While we have you here, you've got 3 chances left to see Rachel in Communicating Doors -
Friday 26th June - 8pm
Saturday 27th June - 3:30pm
Saturday 27th June - 8pm

"The Music Of Christmas," with Eamonn McCrystal

Previously we told you all to set your DVR's for "The Music Of Christmas," which aired last night in Northern Ireland (& some channels in the UK). The show was a wonderful festive treat featuring two numbers with Rachel, 'River' & a duet of 'White Christmas' with Eamonn.

For those of you in the UK that missed, or simply want to re-watch it, here is an embed of BBC iPlayers video of 'The Music of Christmas." The video is available to download & view for 29 more days.. so get your fill in now, while you can. NB: Rachel comes in about 8mins & 30secs, but we suggest to get in the Christmas spirit you watch the whole show.

We are sorry but the video does appear to only be available to watch in the UK (we've got a video from Lou_Lee of 'River' on Youtube below & we'll sort out a video of White Christmas for you as soon as we can).

Here's a few screenshots we took during the show for you all.

Wall Street Journal + with Rachel Tucker & Sting

On Dec 18th 2014, Sting & Rachel Tucker paid a visit to the Wall Street Journal Cafe, to give WSJ+ members an exclusive performance & chat about all things "The Last Ship." We've come across a few snippets of the interview & if we find the performances we'll let you know.

"One of the stars of “The Last Ship,” Rachel Tucker, joined him [Sting!] to talk about losing a televised talent search but winning a Broadway role, playing opposite Sting each night, and the difference between the West End and Broadway.

The pair began the interview by singing two songs from the show. Tucker sang her opening number, “August Winds,” accompanied by Sting on guitar, and then he sang “The Night the Pugilist Learned How to Dance.” "     WallStreetJournal

While we have you here we'd like to to draw your attention to a video that Jen Greenfield pointed us to last week. 'Dress Up with George B. Style: Aaron Lazar.' The video follows Aaron on the official opening of 'The Last Ship' choosing out his outfit & at around 3mins 45secs they head to the red carpet & chat to a few people, including Rachel Tucker at 5mins talking about her gorgeous diamonds & THAT dress. We did try to embed the video, but we couldn't stop it from autoplaying, so please click through with the highlighted link.

Snippet of "August Winds" from The Last Ship

Playbill has just shared an extended highlights feature from 'The Last Ship,' which has a new video we've not seen of one of Rachel's solo songs from the show, "August Winds."

It sounds incredible & frankly makes us even more jealous of all those over in New York right now.

Also we've just found this great picture on Broadway.com of Rachel & Aaron Lazar at opening night.

The Last Ship - Promo, Interview & the Official Trailer.

So we're going to be playing catch up on some videos, articles, reviews & interviews over the past few months, from The Last Ship. We've been scouring through the internet to see what we've missed & if we could find anything new.

Firstly we'd like to share this video interview from when Rachel was in Chicago for The Last Ship's, pre Broadway run from GlossedAndFound

Second video we'd like to share is one I just stumbled across today, it only has a very small snippet of Rachel, but it's still an interesting video to watch, to learn a little bit more about The Last Ship. It's again promo from the Chicago run of The Last Ship.

Thirdly, how about checking out the official Broadway trailer for The Last Ship

That's all for now, but check back soon for an update all about Rachel, Sting & The Last Ship's appearance on Jimmy Fallon's, The Tonight Show.
