Westend Live 2017

So many of you have been in mourning since the end of Rachel's first UK Solo Tour, but we came out of mourning yesterday for a Triple Tucker day. FYI, still trying to compile thoughts about the tour, so if you have any photos, reviews, memories you'd like to add to that massive round up please email to TuckerFanblog@gmail.com.

The Westend Live crowds were treated to an incredible performance of 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road' & 'Castle On The Hill' from Rachel on Sunday. I won't blabber on about how good it was, let's just share some videos & photos & you can see for yourself how smashing it was.

NB: I will update with better/official videos if & when they become available, so keep checking back or tweet me any links you find, but for now..

Update: Just been sent some stunning photos from ElleSober on Twitter.

Update: @AlwaysBeenGreen has just sent some photos to share too.

How amazing was Westend Live? You could tell Rachel was just in her element up there, it was quite an incredible thing to witness. Just wish i'd known about the Surprise duet so I didn't run to the Theatre cafe with most of the other fans to get our place for that gig. Geez she keeps us on our toes, doesn't she?

Rachel to perform three shows as part of Live At Zedel season

It has been announced that Rachel is going to be performing a set of 3 intimate solo shows in London as part of Brasserie Zedel's 'Live at Zedel' season. The shows will be on Monday 20th & Tuesday 21st March at 7pm & a special late show on Saturday 25th March at 11pm. This will be the first time Rachel has done such intimate solo shows of this nature. The venue itself, formally The Crazy Coq's is a charming 80 seater venue, making you feel like you're spending a casual, but somewhat fancy evening in with one of the Westend & Broadway's leading ladies. The show is going to be directed by Rachel's husband & acclaimed director Guy Retallack & is brought to us by Parallel Productions.

UPDATE* - In less than a week the shows are already SOLD OUT. So if you want to catch Rachel & missed booking, keep an eye on the the website & the @LiveAtZedel & Parallel Productions Twitter accounts & Follow us @RTFB1981 for updates on any returns.

"After two sell-out one-woman shows, Rachel Tucker is back with her first intimate solo show. Following a triumphant run as Elphaba in Wicked the Musical on Broadway, for which she was the recipient of the Best Female Replacement Award at the 2016 Broadway.com Audience Awards, Rachel is currently reprising her role as Elphaba in London's West End, as part of Wicked's special 10th Anniversary cast, having also previously played the role to great acclaim in London for 3 years, where she holds the title of longest consecutive running Elphaba and won the 2011 WhatsOnStage award for Best Takeover in a Role.Rachel made her Broadway debut in late 2014 in Sting's musical The Last Ship, creating the role of Meg Dawson, to rave reviews. In 2015, Rachel performed her one-woman show Back From Broadway, which won the 2015 West End Wilma Award for Best Cabaret. Rachel's debut solo album The Reason was launched in her first sell-out concert at the St. James Theatre in August 2013."                                            - Brasserie Zedel

It is yet to be announced if Rachel will have any guests or who they are likely to be, but these 'Live at Zedel' gigs usually involve a different guest/friend of the performer showing up for a sing song each night, so i'm going to assume we can look forward to something exciting.

After catching all of Rachel's previous solo shows in London in the last few years & even her Belfast gig. It's safe to assume that Rachel is going to come prepared to knock our socks off once again, with a fabulous & thoughtful line up or songs, blended with interesting anecdotes about why these songs made the cut & her ever interesting & inspiring stories that go along with each.

Live At Zedel is located underneath Brasserie Zedel in the heart of central London just off Piccadilly circus. 20 Sherwood Street, London, W1F 7ED.

"Speaking from Broadway, she said: “I’m thrilled to come back to my old turf, my dressing room and work with the crew again. This was my  first dream role after leaving drama school.”"

Funnily enough today marks six years since Rachel opened as Elphaba on the Westend with Louise Dearman & that magnificent cast, so how apt that today of all days they would announce her return, and a welcome return it will be. Especially after so many people made the journey over to see her in NY, now we can see her once again (or twice or many more times) & bask in the perfection of her Elphie..

So mark your diaries & stock up those piggy banks, maybe also get your day seating kit ready too, for our Saturday get togethers. Tucker's coming back & it's going to be a whirlwind of awesome. Here's to fun times on the AV steps with all you like minded fans.

Inside Kara's dressing room with Rachel

At the beginning of the month Playbill.com shared an interview "Go Inside Kara Lindsay's Dressing room for Girl Talk with Rachel Tucker." It's a fantastic interview & our first real glimpse of Rachel & Kara's friendship off stage.

"After only three weeks in the show together, it's clear that Broadway's newest Elphaba and Glinda, Rachel Tucker and Kara Lindsay, respectively, have a bond that will last "for good." Tucker, who played the role of Elphaba for over 1,000 performances in the West End, joins Lindsay, who rose to fame in the hit Disney musical Newsies and has been playing the role of Glinda on Broadway since December.
The two leading ladies were squealing with excitement backstage at the Gershwin Theatre after reuniting in the hallway moments before the interview. Lindsay had just taken a few personal days off from the show and arrived at the theatre directly from the airport. The two actresses were giggling, hugging and catching up while we settled into Lindsay's dressing room to talk about their journey with the show, maintaining their personal lives and who the best Fiyero kisser is."

This is such a fun interview & what makes it even better is the photoshoot that came along with it. To view the gallery on Playbill.com, click here.. or scroll below. We love them so much, we're just going to post them all in full, because they are beautiful. Credit goes to Monica Simoes. We're going to put a few of the interview questions in between the pictures but for the full interview please click through

Exclusive interview with Rachel Tucker

Recently we had the great honour & privilege of having a chat with Rachel at The Bridgehouse theatre in Penge, about her upcoming return to playing the green girl, but this time in Wicked on Broadway.

We asked all the questions we thought you'd want to know & maybe a few extras. This was our first time interviewing someone, let alone a Westend & Broadway star, so go easy on us!

We can not thank Rachel enough for giving up her precious time to chat with us, it means a lot that she is so generous to her 'fans' & wanted to take time to do this for us. Thank you from the bottom of ours hearts Rachel, you truly are one of a kind & it was a pleasure to chat with you & share a tiny moment of what is such an exciting time. We are so proud of you, you are living the dream & it's so inspiring to watch!

So without further ado.. one ridiculously long (24 mins to be exact) but hopefully informative interview with Broadway's next Elphaba: Rachel Tucker....
