It has been announced that Rachel will NOT be performing in Wicked from January 5th - January 13th (inclusive). Get that in your diary so you don't book & miss her.
Instead she'll be jetting off to spend time in Tokyo, Japan. Performing in three shows of 'New Year's Musical Concert's' at the Orb Theatre.
If you're close to Toyko, Japan we'd suggest you head on over to one of these shows, as we're sure with Rachel involved it's bound to be a fantastic evening of musical theatre entertainment.
She will be joined by Laura Osnes, Robert Maren, Matt Laurent & Howard McGillan. All musical theatre and classical performers in their own right. From Broadway, to the Westend and stars from Canada.
The concerts are going to be a mix of old classics & new music from the theatre world, as far as we can tell from google's translation of the info page.
From Rodgers & Hammerstein, Leonard Bernstein, to Cole Porter & Andrew Lloyd Webber... alongside music from the charts (we think?). They garantee it'll be a night of classic, lots of material that is familiar to even the novice theatre goer.The shows will be on:
January 9th (Sat) at 6pm
January 10th (Sun) at 2pm
January 11th (Mon) at 2pm
Seats range in price from 5000Yen (£27) - 12,000Yen (£65).
So if you ignore the flights to Japan, (FYI you're looking at at least £400 for flights Lon-Tokyo, not that we looked or anything, no.) Rather reasonable really..
