Rachel's charity work continues...

I have no idea how Rachel manages to find the time however; tomorrow morning Rachel and Fiance Guy will be running the London Royal Parks Half Marathon (Hyde Park+Green Park+St James Park) it takes place on Sunday October 12th at 10am.

They are running as a team, and you can sponsor them through either UNICEF UK: For 60 years UNICEF has been the world's leader for children, working on the ground in 156 countries and territories to help children survive and thrive, from early childhood through adolescence. The world's largest provider of vaccines for developing countries, UNICEF supports child health and nutrition, good water and sanitation, quality basic education for all boys and girls, and the protection of children from violence, exploitation, and AIDS. UNICEF is funded entirely by the voluntary contributions of individuals, businesses, foundations and governments. For UNICEF please go to http://www.justgiving.com/guyandrachel

Or Battersea Dogs & Cats Home: Battersea Dogs & Cats Home's vision is of a world where all dogs and cats are in caring and permanent homes. The Home is a charity that aims never to turn away a dog or cat in need of our help. We reunite lost dogs and cats with their owners and, when we can't do this, we care for them until new homes can be found for them. For Battersea Dogs and Cats Home please go to http://www.justgiving.com/rachelandguy These are both highly worthy causes, that merit and deserve support, so please dig deep and give whatever you are able.

"This is our first half marathon, and we are both really excited about doing it, and we are looking at it as training for the London Marathon in 2009 which we are both keen to do; Guy ran the 2005 London Marathon slowly, and Rachel used to be an enthusiastic cross country runner."

I'm sure if anyone wanted to come down and support them they would be more than welcome.

Good Luck Guys!!

UPDATE - 2pm 12th Oct

Rachel and Guy successfully ran the half marathon today in 2hrs 20 mins which was around their estimated finishing time. They are really "chuffed". I'm not sure yet how much they managed to raise for their charities but when I do you will too. They are now off to spend the rest of the day in a spa retreat in essex; chilling out and having a well earned rest.

WELL DONE !!

David says: BRILLIANT result guys!!!! Eight shows plus a half marathon in a week! Rachel and Guy deserve our huge respect.

I'm pleased to say that five Team Tucker members have donated so far, and there's still time for anyone else who would like to give a little to these worthy causes.

If you are unable to donate via credit or debit card, please email me at dlar193076@aol.com and I'll sort out alternative payment methods for you.

When you read posts like this (thank you Karen), doesn't it feel an absolute pleasure and joy to be a fan of Rachel?

What a smashing lass she is - and it's even lovelier that her kindness and generosity is so well-matched with that of her husband-to-be.

Thanks for the post Karen. I'm incredibly impressed that Rachel & Guy are doing this and want to wish them all the very best for tomorrow. I'll be chipping in a few quid and hope that some of our readers can do likewise.

Thanks Karen, really good post, good to know whats going on! Rachel must be shattered.. 8 shows a week and then a half marathon!? Thats pretty impressive!

I've got a bit of an issue with donating though -- my card is messed up atm, is there any other way to do it?

I don't know where you get the energy from Rachel; I feel tired just thinking about it.

It's fantastic how you and Guy have found time in your hectic schedules to earn some money for charity.

Thankfully I read about this just in time to get my donation in before the run begins.

I'm sure you'll have a great if rather tiring time.

Good luck guys!
