This blog is intended as a tribute and news blog for Belfast sensation Rachel Tucker.
As I'm sure you know, Rachel is an extremely talented actress and singer. She has appeared in several major theatre productions, most recently 'The Wizard Of Oz' in Belfast's Lyric Theatre.
It was here that she first came to my attention, as my daughter was one of the Munchkins to Rachel's Dorothy. My daughter's performance was (needless to say) superb, but Rachel was awesome.
Her performance was favourably compared by one theatre critic to 'the legendary Judy Garland' herself and she played to full houses every night of the show's six week run.
Following this triumph, we heard that Rachel was to be one of the twelve finalists for the BBC's 'I'd Do Anything' prime time talent show. The goal was the West End role of Nancy in Cameron Mackintosh's 'Oliver'.
Rachel finished fourth, an absolute travesty given her huge talent, but ultimately her career is certain to eclipse that of the eventual winner, Blackpool's Jodie Prenger.
