I know that many of us have been wondering since the news of The Last Ship's (far too soon) closure, whether or not Rachel & the cast /show would be eligible for nominations in the 2014-15 Tony Awards (which is the awards show that recognises excellence in Broadway theatre). So let's get something straight.
There's been confusing information as to when the show had to stay running for it to make eligibility, but after a meeting with the 2014/-15 Tony Awards Administration Committee on 15th January 2015, the news is fantastic and has us frankly rather excited. Rachel Tucker & Michael Esper have been considered as 'Eligible for nominations.' All we can say is thank freaking goodness for that, because if they had missed out on even being considered on a technicality, we'd have been starting some sort of... well who knows how far we'd have gone.
We couldn't be happier and prouder of Rachel. We have everything crossed that when nominations are announced on April 28th we'll be updating you with the best news! Though luck won't have anything to do with it.. hard work, determination and pure talent from Rachel is what we are sure will get her a nomination.
