The Big Night!!!!

It's Rachel's big big night -- we want to wish her all the very best in what is undoubtedly the pinnacle of a fantastic career. She will have plenty of audience support tonight -- we're off to London in just a few hours!

As Andy and I won't be home until later in the week, the first night review will be in the capable hands of Rosie who has done us proud on several occasions.

Good luck Rachel!!!!

It was a Big Night indeed!! My gosh Rachel was a star, a supernova in fact. I can't believe how amazing she was. The whole cast was great, but I have to say, to be honest, she stole the stage. The Wizard and I was her first chance to impress, she did deliver big time, and I think she knew, because she kind of threw in an elated fists in air and big smile, that I don't believe were ecatly in the script :) She looked radiant when she left the stage after The Wizard and I. DG was magnificent, but I think, for me, the biggest surprise was that I fell in love with No Good Deed. It had never been my favourite Elphaba moment, but Rachel blew the stage away, her voice was huge, but every single movement of her fingers, or sparkle in her eyes (we had really good seats) counted during that song. Never seen anything like that in Wicked. She was lovely, when she came out, despite the rain, at the stage door, and I told her what I thought of NGD, that made mi spine shiver, and she said she was still shaking herself from it all. She is true and truly Elphaba, I actually even forgot it was Rachel on stage at times. A spell has been cast on the West End tonight, she deserves 4.99 stars out of 5 (not giving her 5 just to leave her something to do on the next performances). WOW!!

I'm so chuffed it went well for Rachel, will definitely have to go and see it! Also so happy that David and Andy and all of the other great fans/bloggers were able to see her take to the stage in a once-in-a-lifetime role!

I had my tickets to Wicked before I knew it was Rachels opening night & I am so honoured to have been there, the show as a whole was fantastic & I agree that Rachel owned the stage, I was waiting for defying gravity & she didn't dissapoint. The performance brought me to tears even more when her dad made his way to the front of the stage to give a well deserved standing ovation & she spotted him & mouthed "I love you" what a proud father he must be.

A big well done & may Rachel's career go from strength to strength!
