IDA vs YCNY

I'm sure most have had a peep at 'Your Country Needs You'. Similar format to IDA -- Graham Norton presenting, ALW judging, along with various minor celebs (how does Lulu look so young?)

That however is where the similarity ends. Sorry Andrew but the standard of talent on display this time round was rather like comparing the conference to the premier league.

Just in case we've forgotten, check out this little gem -- immortalised on Youtube thanks to our Andy.
This is quality in every sense.

Also worth noting that these three ladies are now all deservedly in top productions -- will we be able to say the same of the 'YCNY' contestants in 8 months?

oh really? i had not heard of this at all lol

i thought ALW was done with this, if he was going to keep going then why isnt he finding another musical theatre star pssh!

He is (thank god).. apparently in 2010 he's looking for Dorothy and Toto for The Wizard of Oz. (Get back in there Rachel!)

Personally, i think he should stick to the casting competitions!

YCNY was terrible :\ Jade was the only talented one on there, but we still have no chance in winning eurovision lol

IDA is in a totally different league. But i'm kinda disapointed hes doing a TV search for Dorothy, cause I thought Jessie or Rachel would have been perfect for the role, and they wont be able to audition :(

Mark- one of the contestants- is destined to play Fiyero in Wicked. I spotted this from the start. and yes, it wasn't as good as IDA lol x

I only saw one episode of this. The Twins performed About You Now,god it was brutal. It goes without saying Rachel's version was far superior.

The should stick to searching for a musical theatre star. Although I have to say I'd much prefer these shows without ALW.

ROFL Jill -- so agree re 'About You Now' -- Rachel's version was phenomenal, the Twins -- well I've seen better karaoke sorry ladies.

I have to agree. I sat through a couple of episodes but they were that bad I thought I'd be in with a shot of winning lol.

Mark Evans is a phenomenal performer. Please don't tar all the YCNY entrants with one brush. He has a number of West End credits before entering and I'm sure he'll be sucessful in the industry afterwards.

Haha, that clip of Jodie, Ashley and Rachel is really quite hilarious. Particularly the 'Let's go Andrew' bit!

Never watched YCNY but from what I have heard and read, it sounds like a lucky escape!!

Hope all of Team Tucker are well and not too affected by this rubbish weather!!
