It hardly seemed fair after a stunning performance of ‘For Once in my Life’ but Rachel found herself in the bottom two for the fist time that week. It seems the British public don’t know talent when they see it or fail to recognise which qualities are important to be a
West End star.
Rachel was joined in the bottom two by Sarah which was also a surprise and it was a shame either them had to leave at this relatively early stage. The song they were given was ‘As If We Never Said Goodbye’ from Sunset Boulevard.
They both did a great job but Rachel really shone; she can tell the story of a song through facial expressions alone and her fantastic ‘straight to the camera’ looks that David has mentioned before were evident again. Her voice was as beautiful as always and when it came to the decision Andrew really only had one choice; he had to save Rachel.
He broke the news to Sarah by saying "I have to think as a producer and I do think Rachel was rock solid, and there were moments that I did think that maybe you were a bit fragile", adding "but you were wonderful and you did exactly what I asked."[
