Competition Help Required

As we mentioned in our Scary Bush night reviews me and David purchased a prize - a We Will Rock You Music/Song Book signed by Rachel - for a forthcoming competition. We are now trying to decide on the format and this is where you come in.

We think the fairest way might be another poll where you guys have to try and guess the top 3 and the votes involved - much like last time with the Nancy Missions - but we are unsure what the poll question should be.

The best idea we've had so far was from Team Tucker member Helen who suggested we use 'What's Your Favourite Queen Song?' and let you choose from those listed in the Music/Song book we are using as the prize.

That seems like an excellent suggestion but we felt it only fair to give everyone a chance to share their ideas; either about the poll question or the format of the competition.

We hope to make the competition post sometime next week so get your thinking cap on and send us your thoughts in an email or just leave a comment below.

What do WWRY fans think of Rachel?

'We Will Rock You' has of course been running for over six years and although the critics have been sniffy (and been proved completely wrong), the show continues to be a runaway success. From what I could see, Scaramouche night on 15th November was completely sold out.

Hardly surprisingly, WWRY has built up a large fan base and even has it's own official message board. I checked it out the other day, and I hope the members won't mind me including some choice quotes regarding Rachel.

It's fair to say that Rachel is a big hit with the people who really matter -- the WWRY regulars. I've copied these comments exactly as they were posted, so excuse the odd spelling mistake etc.

First of all a review from opening night:

''We thought Rachel was one of the better contestants in I'd Do Anything so we were pleased to see her offered the part of Meat and she certainly didn't disappoint. Her Belfast accent works well, think she might turn out to be a very popular Meat with other regulars. Jodie and Ashley were there to meet her after the show and offer their support (which was nice).''

A few regarding Rachel as Meat:

''I love the partnership of Ian and Rachel as Brit & Meat it is working really well and Rachel looks like she's been playing the part for ages rather than 3 months. They both really belt out IWIA and i love Rachels NOBY.''

''Straight down to the new leads starting with Rachel as Meat,i have to admit it sounds strange hearing an Irish accent coming from under the trap door, having said that Rachel is going to be a huge success in the role. There is a real energy between her and Ian and she has a superb voice.I love the change she has made to the end of NOBY.''

''From the moment Brit and Meat powered onto the stage for IWIA I knew they were ready for us! Both were full of energy and the chemistry between them was palpable!
There voices work really well together and Rachel as Meat is full of passion- she really suits the role. At first her Irish accent was a bit much for me- but after a while I got used to it. Only the good die Young- was the best I've heard that song sang I think. Never heard Kerry sing it live (only on the recording). She has a very powerful yet controlled voice and the acting is gorgeous.''

And a couple of Scaramouche reviews:

''Rachel, LOVED her Scaramouche, I'd love to see her again in the nearby future. For only doing a few shows yet she was absolutely brilliant and I'm sure she'll grow into the part even more. It was a pain that the audience was rather dead, there were just a few laughs, she deserves a lot more!''

''Rachel : Boy, a month and a half in and she's already been given the chance to play Scara for a week. She was telling me that she was totally bricking it on Monday but is now loving playing Scara and is having fun with the role. I just couldn't believe I was seeing someone whose only playe that role after just a few times before last night. She was awesome, and has totally made the role her own. Her accent she uses for the role works really well with some of the lines. Normally the comic timing is the last thing to click for the understudies that havent had a chance to develop the role every night, but she was bang on. Her vocals were also very very good and she gave a very strong SBTL that nearly blew the roof off the Dom at the end.''

I really don't want to gloat (well go on then just a little), but it was obvious from Oz and of course IDA that Rachel is a phenomenal talent. Here's the proof ladies and gentlemen and we should all be VERY proud to be her supporters.

A Little Night Music

OK everyone I fully realise that this is Rachel's blog, but I just HAVE to mention Jessie's triumphant debut in 'A Little Night Music' on Saturday night.

I'm not doing a full-blown review as Katie has done a superb job on Jessie's blog, to which I could add virtually nothing. You can read it here:

KATIE'S REVIEW

All I can say is that Rachel will be so proud of her friend -- Jessie chose a wonderful production and a wonderful cast -- and proved herself every inch their equal.

MUSICAL CRITICISM REVIEW

'A Little Night Music' is as different from 'We Will Rock You' as night and day -- a gentle, funny yet moving musical, the incredibly intimate setting of the Menier Chocolate Factory is just perfect for the production and I would highly recommend everyone to go and see it.

We were also fortunate enough to meet Jessie for a few minutes in the foyer afterwards and I was SO pleased that she and Katie managed to meet at last. For me it was the perfect end to an excellent evening.
And you can see the proof in the lovely picture above! More pics on Jessie's blog.

I also want to say a huge, huge thank you to Katie and Jackie for inviting me on Saturday -- it was a thoroughly wonderful evening and a priviledge to be there in such excellent company. After two superb London theatre weekends, I just feel totally spoilt and can't wait to go back.

Oh and thanks also to Rosie for posting her Scaramouche Night photos -- I'm a little disappointed that I wasn't invited to the wedding Rosie, but you do make a lovely couple!

More Rachel Scaramouche Dates

If you missed Rachel in the Scaramouche role -- never fear. We've just heard that she will be Scara from 1st to 3rd December inclusive, as it's Sabrina's birthday on the 1st and she presumably needs a couple of days to recover.

Trust us Rachel is superb as both Meat and Scara, but with the Scaramouche role you get to see and hear Rachel a LOT more, particularly in the second half. Don't think twice, just GO.

Jessie's Big Night Approaches!!

As our regular readers will know, we have a close relationship with our 'sister blog' for Rachel's friend and fellow IDA contestant Jessie Buckley.

This Saturday will be a momentous one for Jessie as it's her opening night in the Sondheim musical; 'A Little Night Music.' The production will run for the next four months in the intimate setting of the Menier Chocolate Factory in London's Southwark area. For further details check out Jessie's blog where Katie has all the info on the venue.

As several of Jessie's fans attended Rachel's opening night, I'm reciprocating (not too much persausion required!) and am looking forward to a return London trip this weekend.

As far as I know, Rachel won't be attending on this particular night, but I'll hopefully have a few photos to feature on the blog anyway.

Opening night is sold out, but there are plenty of opportunities to see the show before it ends it's run on the 8th March 2009.

From Rachel's blog we'd like to wish Jessie all the very best for her big night.

Andy's Scaramouche Night Photos

It's only right that this picture is back on top of the blog as I think it's the best we've ever posted. Rachel with David's little princess Catherine.

Helen was delighted to get a photo taken with Rachel but I'm sure the highlight of her night was being able to sit by me in the theatre. Or maybe not lol.

Jo and Rachel - again lol - from a slightly different angle.

Rosie and Rachel look like great old friends in this shot.

Yes I know we've seen this one before as well but it's a great picture of Olivia, Rosie and Jo with Rachel and it's worth seeing again; especially as Rachel is looking right at me.

And finally another picture of me and Rachel.I was going to settle for one this time but Jo - See Note Below - suggested taking another shot. Surprisingly I didn't take much persuading lol.

It appears my memory has let me down AGAIN as it was Naomi who took the excellent shot of me and Rachel above. I really can't trust myself to remember anything that happened more than 10 minutes ago.

Scaramouche -- Another Brilliant Night!!

I'm just home from a mad, totally exhausting but fantastic three days in London. In that time we managed to visit The Tower of London, Madame Tussauds, Harrods, take a trip on the London Eye, have a peep at Buckingham Palace and Big Ben and take in two West End Shows. Wow.

So a bit about 'Wicked.' We managed to get a fantastic deal on tickets thanks to Rosie (£53 all in for three of us). We were in Row W which I must admit made me slightly nervous, but the Apollo is such a great theatre that you could sit anywhere and have a great view. We paid 50p for the little opera glasses for Catherine (my daughter) and it was well worth the investment. Also a tip for anyone who hasn't been -- bring some swimwear -- the theatre is so hot you couldn't possibly wear anything else.

The show itself was absolutely brilliant -- Rosie has been raving about it since I first met her, which was like, I don't know, years ago and Karen's brother told me it would 'blow our minds'. And it did.
It's an incredible production and I'd recommend it to anyone. I can also see why so many people voted for Elphaba in our recent Rachel poll -- she would be superb in this role and I'd love to see her play it.
This time last year Rachel and Catherine were in rehearsals for the Wizard of Oz and it was incredible to see how 'Wicked' tied up so many of the loose ends of the original tale and transformed the whole Oz story into something entirely different.
In a word brilliant.

The following night was WWRY and Rosie and Andy have already done great reviews, so I'll try not to double up too much.
It was wonderful to meet TT members Helen and Naomi for the first time and to see so many others there from opening night too. Rosie, Olivia and Jo have become friends entirely through Rachel and met up before the show, and it was great to see Andy again. He really is every bit as great a guy in real life as he is in cyberspace and he was a particularly big hit with Catherine. Nothing to do with him buying her Haagen-Daz ice-cream I'm sure.

So the show started and it wasn't long before Rachel appeared as Scaramouche and blew the roof off the Dominion with 'Somebody To Love.' I wasn't entirely sure how she had any voice left after that number alone.

Amanda Coutts played Meat and she was good, but as Andy mentioned, it just didn't seem quite right that someone else was singing 'No-one But You' as Rachel's rendition is nothing short of perfect.

But it was Scaramouche that we were here to see, and in the second half in particular, Rachel was hardly ever off the stage.
Scaramouche is an incredibly demanding role. It requires numerous solos, large chunks of dialogue, considerable intercation with Galileo and a lot of comic timing.
Rachel had them all in spades.
She had a real chemistry with Ricardo and the two of them were a joy to watch.
Even little touches such as 'Scaramouche will you do the fandango', when Rachel did a little dance and the hilarious Union Jack knickers moment require pin-point timing, and you would honestly swear Rachel had been playing this role for months. In a Scottish accent.

Seriously, if you haven't yet seen WWRY -- book NOW. It doesn't matter whether Rachel is playing Meat or Scara, you will have a brilliant night and the rest of the cast are superb. If anything I enjoyed the show even more the second time -- on opening night I'd been so worried for Rachel that she would be perfect (I know what am I like) but this time I just KNEW that she would.

I don't want to hark back to IDA, but in all seriousness, if you've only seen Rachel on TV, you've seen perhaps 10% of what she is capable of. Her 'Cabaret' performance gives you a clue, but until you've seen her live, you really have no idea how awesome her talent is.

So, after the show, nursing two sore hands from applauding so much, I made my way with Heather, Catherine, Andy and Helen to the stage door. Rosie, Olivia, Jo, Chris, Naomi and her hubby were already there and our timing was perfect as Rachel arrived immediately.
Despite the momentous 12 months that Rachel has had, she hasn't changed a bit. She's still so friendly, thoughtful and down-to-earth -- an absolute gem.

She gave a delighted Catherine a big hug, posed for a photo, asked about her drama class and hinted that she might be a future Scaramouche. I'm filling in her application form tomorrow.
Again Rachel had bags of time and patience for everyone and proved for the hundredth time that Andy and I did exactly the right thing starting up this blog back in May. We really couldn't have chosen a better subject.

I also just want to thank everyone for being so nice to Heather and Catherine. They really did appreciate being made so welcome and had a really great weekend.

As Andy mentioned, we do have a new prize for an upcoming blog competition, so watch this space! More Scaramouche Night photos to come as well.

Oh What A Night !!!!

Well I’ve just got back to my Travelodge after watching a breathtaking show at the Dominion theatre. We Will Rock You really does have to be the greatest show on earth. Of course one of the main reasons for that are the incredible, eye catching performances from Rachel Tucker.

She proved tonight that she can make any role her own because although she has only performed Scaramouche a handful of times you’d have thought she been doing it for years. This is a very demanding role and to be told at short notice - as she was a few weeks back - that she had to step in must have been terrifying, but as always our girl rose to the challenge. Learning one of these parts – Meat or Scaramouche - is impressive enough but learning both is simply miraculous.

However Rachel doesn’t just learn these roles she makes them her own and brings a bit of that Tuckerness to the part as only she can.

I’ve raced ahead of myself here and should really go back to the events that followed my last blog post earlier this morning. At that point I think I said I was about to leave but unfortunately it didn’t work out quite like that.

Having decided at the last minute to stay over night, I had phoned and booked a single room at the Covent Garden Travelodge on Friday evening; £101.50 including booking fee. I didn’t fancy a late night trip home and lets face it, it’s worth it to see Rachel doing her thing on stage. Having packed the car, I belted up and was ready for blast off. Unfortunately the car wasn’t. I made some rather worrying noises before dying completely.

*I have left the above line in as that's how it was originally written. As previously mentioned I wrote this post on my laptop late on Saturday night and after publishing I noticed the above mistake. However my laptop battery died before I could correct it. I'm not sure anyone's actually noticed but I'd just like to put everyone's mind at rest that although I do sometimes make worrying noises, I am NOT infact dead.*

Panic set in at this point but I decided the best thing to do was to phone my mate who’s a mechanic. He was very busy but popped round as I told him it was an emergency; lets not forget I had David’s tickets. He had a quick look but he said it doesn’t look like a five minute job and I may need new parts. In other words, you won’t be driving that to London today.

Now I really was worried. The only thing left to try was to see if I could borrow my Dads car. This proved semi successful. My Dad has a Motability car which means it can only be driven when he is in it - as driver or passenger - otherwise he would risk losing his disability allowance. Thankfully after much persuasion I managed talk him into making the trip. This meant my Mum and Dog were also set for an unexpected trip to the West End. My Mum fancied Christmas shopping in London and Max a run in Hyde Park.

We eventually got going at about 1:00pm which wasn’t bad considering everything that had happened and we arrived at Reading Services just before 2:30pm. At this stage I thought we had plenty of time and treated my parents to some coffee and cake for being good enough to help me out in my hour of need. We left the services at about 3:00pm, still 3 ½ before our planned meet up at the theatre.

Soon after we got back on the motorway the traffic started to thicken and the electronic boards were warning of even worse delays up ahead. We made a snap decision to divert onto the M25 and come into London on the M40. It would be a little further but we hoped less busy. That proved to be the case and we cruised into the outskirts of London, passed Wembley Stadium and even David’s Travelodge.

That however wasn’t the end of our troubles. We had Sat Nav and the Travelodge’s address so you would have thought it was plain sailing from there but you’d be wrong. The time at this point was 4:30pm but Nancy as we like to call her was sending us down dead ends and one way streets THE WRONG WAY; half the roads in the area seemed to be closed and changing lanes in London doesn't seem to go down to well unless people were just tooting their horn to say hello. After travelling round in circles for well over an hour we arrived at our Travelodge at 6:20pm. Of course by this time it was pretty much pitch black outside and I was starting to give up hope; I cannot stress enough the sense of relief I felt when I saw the the Travelodge sign.

As I’d booked the room for 1 we had what appeared to be a fairly large SINGLE bed. It looks like my Mum and Dad might just squeeze on there but it’s going to be the floor for me. Still they have done me a massive favour so I could hardly have asked them to sleep in the car; could I?

I left them watching Strictly Come Dancing and raced round the theatre to meet David and the gang. I was about 10 minutes late but I couldn’t see a single person I recognised. Then out of the darkness came 3 beautiful faces, Rosie, Olivia and Jo. It appeared I had the date right after all. Not long after the equally beautiful Helen – my partner for the night – arrived and David with his lovely wife Heather and darling daughter Catherine; a future star of the West End I’m sure.

We then made our way up to the bar and had a few drinks where we saw a few other members of TT including Naomi who came up from the stalls especially to say hello. It was then time to take our seats for the main event. We had great seats but it would have been even better if I didn’t have to keep dodging the tall guys head sitting it the chair in front. I was determined to keep Rachel in view at all times.

As Rachel was playing Scaramouche we didn’t have to wait so long for her to make an appearance this time and when she took to the stage an already buzzing audience really came alive. Rachel gave what I can only describe as a mind blowing, faultless performance - even that doesn't do it justice - and I loved everything about what she brought to the role of Scaramouche. Her singing was sensational, her acting INCREDIBLE and some of her stage antics hilarious. I particularly loved the backward role exposing what appeared to be Union Jack undies lol.

It seemed strange watching another girl in Rachel’s normal role of Meat. I thought she did very well if I’m honest but was still not a patch on our girl. As I said to Rachel afterwards I would have probably thought she was amazing had I not already seen Rachel in the role back on opening night. That’s no disgrace however because it must be very tough having to follow perfection.

Meat’s role is far less involved in the second half of the show but Scaramouche is in almost every scene. So unlike last time where I spent the entire second half thinking of how amazing Rachel’s rendition of ‘Only the Good Die Young’ was I was actually able to concentrate on the show.

Rachel maintained her brilliance right through to the end and her incredible acting ability really shone out in this role. I know I've used this word before but I was transfixed by her performance.

So which role do I prefer? Well to be honest I’m not sure. At the end of the day they are both great roles and we are just so lucky that we’ve been able to see Rachel in both and the show must think all there Christmases have come at once to have found someone as special as our girl.

After the show we purchased a prize for our next blog competition – more news on that later – and bumped into another TT member, Chris. I was able to make his night even better by informing him that his team Oldham had secured an excellent 1-0 away win at Northampton earlier in the day.

We then made our way round to the stage door; we just didn't want the night to end. I saw Olivia who I was about to chat to last time on opening night when Rachel burst through the stage door and you’ve guessed it, the same thing happened again. Sorry Liv I’m sure we’ll get chance for a proper chat one of these days.

It never ceases to amaze me just how friendly Rachel is. She really made a great effort to make sure everyone got an autograph and/or a picture and evened stopped to chat to the few of us that were able to get out any words in the presence of such a star. She really is one in a million.

I myself feel I made some progress because I did actually manage to speak to her this time. Who knows next time I might even be able to get out something coherent.

We then went our separate ways, although I walked back to Covent Garden with Helen as my Travelodge was in the same area she was heading. I eventually got back to my room around 11:45pm and I started writing this on my new laptop soon after.

You’ll have to excuse any spelling mistakes as I’ve had a few drinks - clearly one too many if the above mistake is anything to go by - and am getting pretty tired but I wanted to get my review on the blog while it was fresh in my mind. You’ll also notice there aren’t any pictures. Don’t panic, it’s just that I forgot to bring the lead for my camera so I’ll add them when I eventually get home tomorrow night; Monday at the latest.

Words cannot describe what a fantastic time I had tonight and I already can’t wait to go back and do it all over again. Although I’ll have to watch my step because David said more than 3 visits a year constitutes stalking lol.

*As you will see I have now added one picture but they'll be more to follow later in the week.*

Rocked again!

Well, I've had my traditional vegemite on toast (the ONLY way to finish off any night out) and I'm back again after another absolutely FANTASTIC night at the Dominion Theatre!
As expected, Rachel was phenomenal as Scaramouche. She was absolutely hilarious, her acting was brilliant, her singing actually just gets better and better.. and she was on stage for about 90% of the whole show! So it was great -- another amazing night.. THANK YOU RACHEL!
I decided that my student loan just about stretched to buying these tickets about a month ago.. and I'm so so so happy that I decided to go, it really was an opportunity not to be missed.
So Jo booked tickets for three of us (me, Jo and Liv) even though we'd only briefly met at opening night.. but in that short space of time it became apparent that we wouldn't be short of things to talk about! So the three of us met at Waterloo at 5 and just sat in Costa for about an hour and a half! We did indeed have plenty of things to chat about: Rachel, X Factor, Strictly Come Dancing, 'Wicked'... a bit more Rachel... and then we decided to get a move on and meet the others outside the theatre.
We met up with a rather anxious looking Andy outside Tottenham Court Rd station.. he hadn't been able to find anyone and was worried he had the wrong night! But we assured him that he had actually turned up on the right day and we were soon joined by David, Heather and Catherine. I straight away got chatting to Heather about 'Wicked'.. luckily they had all loved it which is good for two reasons.. 1) I told David that he pretty much had no choice but to like it and 2) I am yet to meet someone who hasn't absolutely loved every second, so this proved that David and his family are normal people! We met TT member Helen at the Champagne Bar before heading to our seats.
Scaramouche must be one of the most demanding roles for any actress to play. I'm sure everyone was blown away by Rachel's versatility on 'I'd Do Anything' and it came across again tonight as the two characters (Meat and Scaramouche) are not very similar at all. Rachel absolutely stunned me, Jo and Liv with her performance of 'Somebody to love'. She was absolutely fantastic and her voice is actually getting better and better. She was sensational.
It would be way too long for me to go into detail about every song that Rachel sang throughout the performance as there were just so so many.. but my highlights were 'Somebody to love', 'Under pressure' and 'Live forever', however I can honestly say there was not a song that she did not deliver on, in the most sensational way. She was just brilliant, as she was throughout 'I'd Do Anything' and as she was on the 22nd September when she first opened as Meat. I'm sure I'm preaching to the converted when I say just how amazingly talented Rachel is and I thoroughly enjoyed every single second of her performance this evening. And tonight wasn't just about her singing. Scaramouche demands a strong actress and Rachel fits the bill perfectly. She was hilarious -- some of her lines had me in stitches! (the one about the rabbit in a bowler hat, cooking an omelette!!). She was just a wonderful all-rounder tonight. Oh, and in her interview at the Proms where she mentions having two left feet.. SO not true! She is a fantastic dancer as well!
After the performance we headed to the stage door, hoping again for a few autographs and maybe a few pictures. Once again, Rachel came through the stage door and just stood there, chatting to us all for ages. She posed for pictures, signed programs and tickets and was generally just lovely, all over again! She recognised us from Opening night and gave Catherine (David's daughter) a very warm welcome as well. She told us all about the show and joked about some of the crazy fans that some of the other actors have acquired as well as the Weakest Link (assuring us that she's not actually perfect!) and answered all of our questions with no sign of impatience or anything. I can't emphasise enough just how lovely this girl is!
I asked Rachel who had been playing Meat for that performance and I can't remember her full name..I'm pretty sure it was Amanda something.. But anyway, I thought she deserved a special mention (so it's actually kinda rubbish that I can't remember her name!) as she was pretty fantastic and a great substitute for Rachel.
At the end of another fabulous night, she headed off for a well deserved drink and TT parted ways at the station.
It was so lovely to see you all again and brilliant to meet those who I didn't already know...(Hi Naomi.. sorry we didn't get a chance to chat properly!) Thank you to you all for making is such a special night!
Special thank you to Jo and Liv for a pretty fantastic evening from start to finish.. I loved every second!
And if you haven't been to see WWRY yet GO AND SEE IT ASAP! The whole show will blow your mind.

Scaramouche Night & CIN Update

Well the day lots of us have been waiting for since 22nd September has finally arrived. Myself, Rosie and many members of Team Tucker will be making their way to the Dominion theatre for another chance to see Rachel in We Will Rock You; this time as Scaramouche.

David, his wife Heather and daughter Catherine are already in London - I hope - after flying over from Belfast yesterday morning. They all went to see 'Wicked' at the Apollo Victoria theatre last night and although I'm sure they had an amazing time, the main event and the reason they made the trip is taking place tonight.

I'm about to set sail from Bristol and brave the M4 traffic. I have David's tickets so I'd better not be late lol.

See you all there!

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Unfortunately as I'm sure you're all now well aware Rachel didn't appear on Children in Need last night. I was out all evening but recorded the show and whizzed through it this morning. However as Holz mentions in her comment on the CIN post below only Jodie and the cast of Oliver were present.

London Theatre Breaks plug Rachel's Blog!

We're well chuffed today as 'London Theatre Breaks' have given Rachel a great mention in their 'We Will Rock You' article and even provided a link to the blog!

Here is the extract -- you can read the full article via the link below:

''We Will Rock You Theatre Breaks are a good choice for couples and groups with varying tastes, perhaps especially those for whom classic musicals like The Sound Of Music or Oliver are just a little bit sugary. Talking of Oliver though, one of the Nancy finalists from I’d do anything Rachel Tucker found her way into We Will Rock You playing the part of “Meat” and her bubbly performance really shines through, stealing the show for much of the first act. Apparently she’s also understudy to Sabrina Aloueche and occasionally plays the lead female role of Scaramouche (see the Rachel Tucker blog.)''

LONDON THEATRE BREAKS WWRY ARTICLE

Further to the 'Children In Need' articles, we've heard a rumour (and it IS only a rumour) that Jodie and the three winning Olivers will be appearing without the other girls. Hopefully this isn't correct, but I just wanted to prepare everyone just in case. If anyone can confirm or contradict this, please get in touch.

Become A Follower!

Now that we've achieved the incredible total of fifty thousand hits in barely five months, I thought it might be a nice idea to give our readers a chance to register their interest in Rachel and the blog by becoming a follower.

All you need to do is click on 'become a follower' at the top right of the blog and your interest will automatically be registered.

Children In Need

As mentioned previously, this Friday (14th) is BBC Children in Need night and the cast of 'I'd Do Anything' are scheduled to appear.

At the moment we don't have any other details. I've heard a whisper that there may be an 'Oliver' theme and that the slot has been pre-recorded, but this isn't definite, so we can all be prepared for a big surprise on the night.

When I say 'all', unfortunately that doesn't include me as I'll be at the Apollo Theatre watching 'Wicked', but Andy is going to do his very best to record the show.
I'd also like to ask any of our other readers to please try to record the IDA section as well, just in case.

Sometimes these type of appearances pop up all over Youtube (the Nancies meet Paul O'Grady for instance) and at other times are almost lost forever (Rachel's breakfast TV interview after IDA). The latter was recorded and posted on Youtube and the blog by Andy himself and hasn't surfaced anywhere else as far as I'm aware. Likewise Rachel and Niamh's Proms performances in September. We have a lot to thank Andy for!

So if you can manage a recording please do so.

Also if anyone knows any details of how many from IDA will be present or what is being performed, please email Andy.

Enjoy the show and don't forget to make a donation if you can.

Rachel Meets the Ultimate Duck!

A few weeks ago Julie who runs Sarah's blog invited me to join the 'Ultimate Duck Auction' Facebook Group.
Run by the 'Mum's the Word' charity, the group have been touring the West End, getting many famous signatures and celebrity photos with this very lucky duck.
He is soon set to be auctioned for charity along with the original photos.

This time it was the turn of the 'We Will Rock You' cast and here is a great photo of Rachel in full costume with Mr Duck.

He also got to meet Kelly Ann Gower, Sabrina Aloueche, Mazz Murray and Amanda Coutts (all these plus other West Enders and even Dannii Minogue can be seen via the link below).

You can also find him on Sarah, Fran and Siobhan's blogs (he does get around!).

Ducky will also be visiting the cast of 'Never Forget', 'Wicked', 'Chicago' and 'Avenue Q' amongst others so keep checking his Facebook site.

We'll keep you posted on how you can bid for him and if you'd like to check out the other photos and join the Facebook Group, here is the link:

Scaramouche Night!!!

First of all I want to thank Rachel for her brilliant update -- particularly the 'stop thinking about the lights woman' which really will have to go down as one of the best lines of unspoken dialogue ever.

Rachel has now been a key member of the WWRY cast for 50 days, so it really is about time Andy and I popped back to see how she's getting along.
From all the reports so far, Rachel has been a runaway success in both roles (anyone surprised?) and as you all know we're having a special night this Saturday to see her play Scaramouche.

I'm doubly lucky this weekend as I'm bringing my wife and daughter and we're going to see 'Wicked' for the first time on Friday night. I've heard unanimously good reports so it had better be good!

OK Saturday -- at this moment we're not 100% sure of total numbers attending, but I know there are at least twenty fans going purely to see Rachel, including many who were there on opening night. Unfortunately Karen can't attend this time as she is starring in a show herself in Dublin that night, but the other three bloggers (myself, Andy & Rosie) will be present and correct.

As on opening night, Andy and I are planning to meet in front of the Dominion at about 6.30pm and given the current weather conditions, will most likely be invading the bar area very soon afterwards.
And of course it goes without saying that we'll be heading round to the stage door after the performance, so do feel free to join us.

We've already heard several very good reports of Rachel in the Scara role, and I for one am REALLY looking forward to it. See you all there!

ANDY:

So 54 days after our last unforgettable visit to the Dominion the Team Tucker gang will be back at the theatre to see Rachel take on the demanding role of Scaramouche.

Opening night was an amazing experience. I got to meet David - the brains behind the blog - and many of our fantastic readers, including fellow contributors Karen and Rosie. The show itself was even more incredible than I could have ever imagined and best of all I got to meet the girl we were all there to see, Rachel Tucker.

Saturday promises to be every bit as special and I can't wait. See you all there!

Rachel on Last.FM + Jodie Prenger

As a Last.FM addict, I thought it only fair to highlight Rachel's page on the site. Each time a Last.FM member plays one of Rachel's songs on their PC, Mac or Ipod, the information is stored on the site.

In the past, we've offered congratulations on the blog to the other IDA girls on their new roles, but as yet we haven't mentioned the lady who actually won the contest.

'Oliver' is due to open next month and those lucky enough to get a ticket will be able to see Jodie play the role which was so hotly contested back in the spring.

Along with Ashley, Jodie attended Rachel's opening night in September and was a real hit with several members of Team Tucker, one in particular (clue -- she's one of our bloggers).

So with the release of some 'Oliver' cast photos, I thought this was a good time to congratulate Jodie on her upcoming performances and wish her all the very best.

And finally I'd just like to congratulate ourselves on reaching fifty thousand hits with over eleven thousand unique visitors!

I think it's fair to say that Rachel is rather popular.
